PURPOSE

Reporting to the Manager of FP&A, the purpose of this position is to be a financial business partner that will help improve the understanding, predictability and performance of the business through data analytics and business partnering. The function supports and steers the business to achieve financial targets through cost center analysis, business analysis and performance management. We are a business partner providing support, guidance and clarity to all internal functions. We support them in optimizing their contribution to the company’s success. This requires a detailed understanding of business, the creation and monitoring of adequate and effective processes, accurate and timely reporting as well as in-depth analysis combined with competent and professional business partnering. 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist with the generation of monthly financial statements and assist with the explanation and analysis of the business results inclusive of KPI’s to provide insights and transparency to the senior leadership team.
  • Support the FP&A team in ensuring the results explanations storytelling is accurate and that the forecast reflects latest business risks and opportunities
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasting process including P&L, Balance sheet and Cash flow, consolidating the information of 11 operating entities within a multiple currency environment.
  • Provide guidance, clear assumptions and methodology to all business partners to support them in the development of the forecasts ensuring that the plans are aligned with the strategy.           
  • Influence the business partners to deliver opex and capex plans that are aligned with the strategy by analyzing and challenging their projections to promote constant focus on efficiency, cost savings and help identify opportunities.
  • Support in the planning of pricing, discounts and costing by ensuring margins are accurately captured in the monthly forecasting process.
  • Utilize BI tools to drive business analytics & business plan thinking throughout the organization to stimulate growth and improve financial performance.
  • Ensure of data quality and system alignment throughout FP&A digitization and technological advancements to help drive fact-based decision making.
  • Support the Manager of FP&A with strategic initiatives as they arise.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA title is a must (or in progress)
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years in a business analysis type role. 
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry an asset
  • Very good analytical skills, managing large volume of data from different sources.
  • Very good understanding of Financial Statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Excellent understanding of financial reporting and dashboards, ability to organize important information in a meaningful way.
  • Must have strong business acumen.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities.
  • Knowledge of Looker, Tableau or other reporting tools a plus.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Bilingual in French and English, written and spoken
