Totally was established to support the NHS and ensure that patients could quickly access the healthcare they need. We partner with our healthcare commissioners across the UK & Ireland to deliver services that help them manage demand and reduce waiting lists including the delivery of Urgent Treatment Centres, GP Out of Hours, Elective Care and NHS 111.

 

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative individual to join Totally as Quality Improvement Lead. The postholder will oversee Totally’s Quality Improvement Plan, coordinate clinical audits, alongside supporting the strategic development of Totally Group policies. This role is a diverse and adept role that will require in-depth organisation and system planning.  

The postholder will be part of the Senior Clinical Governance team, bringing together learning and aligning with current or required policies, playing a key role in helping embed quality improvement processes and best practices across services within Totally.

General responsibilities of the role: -

  • Oversee and manage an annual programme of clinical audits, ensuring the programme meets local and national requirements.
  • Manage Totally’s policy workstream to ensure that the organisations policies and procedures are compliant with external regulators such as NHSE&I, NHSE Health and Justice, HSIB, CQC,  NICE and any other regulatory and professional bodies.
  • Support the Business Development team to ensure bids are supplied with the appropriate QIP information, policies and audits.
  • Assist Clinical Leaders to identify and embed improvements to patient care through the clinical audit programme.
  • Design and deliver a sustainable approach that ensures that all policies are reviewed, in date, evidence based.
  • Work with the Medical Director and wider Senior Team to identify key areas of research that advance the objectives of the organisation and improve the lives of the people we serve.
  • Support the workforce by helping to develop a range of informational and educational materials and resources to be made accessible to clinicians, patients and other staff.
  • Liaise and communicate with all levels of healthcare professionals and clinical management teams, ensuring opportunities for clinical audit are identified, pursued and supported.

Essential qualifications, training & experience required:-

  • Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.
  • Ability to analyse and present a range of complex data.
  • Understanding of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing of the Institute of Internal Auditors or similar.
  • Knowlegde of the principles within the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards.
  • Ability to understand the application of clinical guidelines, NICE.
  • Experience in application audits, policy and quality improvement theories.
  • Ability to assimilate, understand, synthesize and communicate complex issues and data in a meaningful way.
  • Knowledge and experience of regulatory frameworks in healthcare and patient safety.

This role can be based within any of our North sites, with some hybrid working.
