The Role

As an IT Financial Analyst within our Group Finance Function, the successful postholder will play a key role in providing finance support to our Group IT Department. This will include providing support around the control, monitoring, reporting and forecasting of >£15m budget across multiple projects and teams.

 

 

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Under the guidance of Group Finance, responsibility for analysis, co-ordination and reporting of the day-to-day Group IT cost base, providing reliable and consistent data to support month end processes and decision making
  • Strong working relationships with Group IT and close liaison with the wider Group Finance team, acting as a conduit between Finance & Group IT
  • Understanding of costs and investigation of variances, providing information to the leadership to improve visibility at a granular level
  • Preparation of Group IT monthly/YTD accounts and supporting the IT leadership commentary on variances
  • The main contact for the Country Operating Units for Group IT related queries and clarifications
  • Support and coordination of the Group IT forecasts feeding into the overall Group Budget process
  • Responsibility for IT Capex tracking data, including progress against forecast and impact on YTG spend
  • Financial support for Investment Appraisal papers and ROI assessment of completed projects
  • Close liaison with Group Finance around IT Capitalisation to ensure capitalisation of intangible and tangible assets is correctly reflected in the underling accounting records
  • Supporting implementation of appropriate processes to facilitate the new control environment
  • Supporting the Group Reporting team during the preparation of the Quarterly releases, the Statutory Accounts, the audit and any ad-hoc interim reviews

 

The Person

  • A Qualified Accountant with proven strong core technical accounting skills, experience with M&A, Due Diligence and Transactional Services would be highly desirable.
  • Self-starter with a hands-on attitude and an excellent work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines with demonstrable organizational skills
  • Resilient and passionate about their role and how they can help contribute to the development of the business
  • A willingness, where necessary, to challenge the status quo proactively but sensitively 
  • Excellent Excel and communication skills
  • A proven ability to quickly build strong collaborative relationships and a desire to become a trusted partner
  • Experience with dealing with multiple stakeholders of various levels and confident in managing these relationships
