The purpose

As one of the leading gym brands in the world, we are seeking a talented and dynamic Social Media Manager to deliver our social media strategy in Switzerland. This is a fantastic opportunity to help strengthen the PureGym brand by building and leveraging a community of brand lovers. You’ll spend some of your time in our gyms shooting and editing UGC style content, as well as briefing our creative teams to produce branded content from head office.

The role

  • Manage the day-to-day handling of all social media channels.
  • Design and implement the PureGym social media strategy and platform specific strategies to align with business goals.
  • Work closely with the Brand Marketing team, Senior Content Manager and Paid Social teams to develop and manage the social schedule throughout the year, ensuring our content drives engagement with our audience to support brand favourability, new joiners, and retention of existing members.
  • Produce a monthly report that outlines performance against our KPIs, competitor tracking, and share key headlines and takeaways with the wider team.
  • Conduct regular research on competitors, campaigns, influencers, hashtags, and trends to stay ahead of the game.
  • Analyse the social media strategy and produce quarterly reports outlining key opportunity areas and ways to improve performance across our social media channels.
  • Stay abreast of the latest social trends, platform features, technologies and best practice, integrating insights into strategy and champion this among the wider marketing team.
  • Collaborate with the Influencer Marketing Manager to execute the influencer strategy to improve brand awareness in CH.
  • Manage the local social media process, ensuring policies and procedures are upheld. Includes creating toolkits to empower gym teams and providing training to social champs as required.
  • Collaborate and support other teams in the business to maintain brand consistency and reach wider business goals with the use of our social media content and platforms.
  • Maximise the potential of our social management platform (Brandwatch), using features such as Influence, Listening, BCR and Storystream.
  • Engage with people who are tagging / endorsing PureGym on social media to drive high-quality member generated content and develop relationships for potential brand campaign activity.
  • Work collaboratively with the Member Services team and provide support on community engagement and crisis management.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks.

The person

  • The Social Media Manager is a pivotal member of the team and understands how to communicate effectively on each platform to support our marketing objectives and growth ambitions.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or relevant field and 3+ years of commercial experience planning and executing social media content. Experience delivering TikTok campaigns is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of social analytics and social listening, with experience using social media management platforms such as Brandwatch or Sprout Social.
  • Experience using Meta Business Suite to manage Facebook and Instagram accounts
  • Strong copywriting skills suitable for each platform, from knowing how to write a successful hook to using effective storytelling techniques.
  • Experience shooting your own content for social media channels and editing TikTok and Reel content to an excellent level.
  • Confidence with social and influencer marketing metrics (impressions / reach / engagements) and able to report on performance to senior members of the team.
  • Excellent attention to detail plus strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Great communication and collaboration skills to ensure that our social strategy, briefs and campaigns are executed accurately.
  • Proactive problem solver with the proven ability to work well and produce great content under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Social obsessed - you’re always up-to-date with the latest developments and trends on social media and spearhead new ideas and innovation to get the most out of each platform.
  • Team player - proactively work with all other marketing teams and cross-functionally to help meet business goals.
  • A self-starter who can work autonomously.
