Overview

Gamma is a fast-growing and innovative communications company that is dedicated to delivering exceptional products and services to our customers. As we expand, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Deal Desk Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Deal Desk Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our sales operations, optimising deal structures, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies to drive revenue growth and maximise profitability.

Main purpose of role:

As a Deal Desk Executive, you will be an integral part of our sales teams, providing essential support in deal structuring, financial analysis, and process improvement. Your exceptional Excel skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities will be instrumental in supporting data analysis, preparing customer proposals and quotes, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. Ultimately you will be responsible for thoroughly understanding the sales process and partnering with our sales teams as they close deals to ensure that deals follow proper revenue, legal, and operational guidelines.

Key accountabilities:

Tasks required will include (but are not exclusive to):

  • Utilise advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups, to manipulate and analyse raw data for deal analysis and decision-making.
  • To support internal teams through Cases, with any commercial support in a timely, professional manner. Ensure internal tools are maintained, and effective audit trails are transparent and easily accessible.
  • Support the Deal Desk Analyst,  Sales & Proposal Management Teams in the preparation of commercial propositions in response to tenders, based on sound historical and current win price analysis and in line with business win strategy.
  • Assist the Analyst in reviewing complex bid documents and contracts to ensure compliance with revenue recognition and legal requirements, interfacing with other stakeholders in the business as necessary.
  • Support the preparation of customer re-sign proposals incorporating historical spend data, pricing lists, cost bases, promotions, and considering different currencies where relevant.
  • Collaborate with the immediate team and wider management teams to identify process improvement opportunities and provide sales training via the enablement function to enhance deal desk performance. Identify and provide targeted sales training based on observations and feedback.
  • Proactively engage with appropriate stakeholders in the business to ensure all back-end quotes for live deals remain valid, are updated periodically as necessary, and provide feedback to the sales team.
  • Use technology/software to capture data points in order to identify key trends, including competitive positioning, product sales, average discounts, and win/loss data ultimately delivering insights to support key business decisions.
  • Support the compliance with corporate policies and standards in all deals and transactions. Support Sales and wider management functions to understand guardrails and parameters around commercial governance and ensure adherence to our quote-to-contract processes and policies for our sales team.

 

Key relationships:

The role will require establishing, building, and maintaining close relationships across the Direct business, including Sales, Commercial Governance, Propositions, Procurement, and others as required. There may also be a need to build relationships with 3rd party suppliers when they are involved in the deal.

Education / qualifications

  • To an A Level standard including GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English Language
  • Degree level education in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field

 

Skills

  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills

 

  • PowerBI skills
  • Familiarity with Salesforce
