Role: Cook and Resident Support
Location: Corbridge
Rota: 24 hrs/week, 09:00 - 18:00 (alternating weekends)
Pay Rate: £12.58 - £12.85 per hour
The Abbeyfield Society is a national charity dedicated to alleviating loneliness and isolation among older people by offering companionship in our supported housing, retirement apartments, and care homes.
Abbeyfield is seeking a reliable and organized Cook and Resident Support team member to join our Corbridge community.
What We’re Looking For:
- Confidence in preparing meals for up to 10 people
- Availability for alternating weekends, with potential for overtime
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks
- A commitment to excellent customer service, particularly for older people
- Basic computer skills (Outlook and Excel experience is a bonus; training will be provided)

About the Role:
At Abbeyfield, we strive to create a caring, community-driven environment where residents feel safe and respected. In this role, you’ll prepare home-cooked meals and be a key point of contact for residents, ensuring their wellbeing and addressing any concerns they may have. While basic computer and budget management skills are helpful, full training will be provided.
Requirements:
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Two satisfactory employment references
- A Standard DBS check (paid for by Abbeyfield)You may be asked to provide details regarding convictions; failure to disclose convictions may result in an offer of employment being revoked.
