Location: Solihull
Contract: 20 hours per week
Rota: Week 1: Thursday - Friday; Week 2: Friday - Sunday
Pay Rate: £11.51 - £11.78 per hour
The Abbeyfield Society is a national charity dedicated to alleviating loneliness and isolation among older people by providing companionship in our supported housing accommodations, retirement apartments, and care homes.

The Role of a Cook:
As a Cook, you will be responsible for:
- Menu Creation: Developing healthy, balanced menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of residents, confidently cooking for an average of 35 people.
- Stock Management: Maintaining an effective system of stock rotation and control to manage catering costs within the agreed budget.
- Equipment Safety: Ensuring the safe and proper use of catering equipment, promptly reporting any defects to management.
- Hygiene Standards: Adhering to kitchen cleaning procedures and schedules in line with Environmental Health standards, ensuring the kitchen and storage areas are clean and hygienic.
- COSHH Compliance: Correctly using all equipment and products according to COSHH requirements, regularly reviewing all COSHH assessments.
- Food Safety Records: Participating in and supervising the completion of all relevant food safety records.
About You:
We are looking for a Cook who has:
- A relevant Certificate in Food Hygiene and proven experience in cooking varied, healthy, and safe meals for large groups regularly.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A methodical and highly organized approach, ensuring cleanliness and effective stock rotation in the kitchen.
